African and International Collaboration

This work involves linking with researchers and institutions, largely but not exclusively, in Southern Africa. The Beyond Borders work explores leadership among students at the Universities of Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana; the OSISA project is researching HIV and AIDS, the law and human rights in Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and Malawi; the Parliamentarians for Women's Health project is promoting access to treatment in Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania and Namibia; and the Tswelopele project, through Physicians for Human Rights, is building links with Swaziland, Botswana and Uganda. The CSA also has various links with Mozambique and Zambia.

The CSA has a rich history of working with international researchers, thinkers and programmers on HIV and AIDS, including social research institutions in Sydney, London, Toronto and Sao Paulo, as well as other universities. In addition it has consulted for and with many United Nations agencies, international donors, foreign governments and a range of working groups, task teams and committees.
