The Centre for the Study of AIDS (CSA) at the University of Pretoria has signed a memorandum of understanding with the HIV/AIDS Impact on Education Clearinghouse during June 2004. The Clearinghouse is coordinated by the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP)/UNESCO. This new partnership hopes to ensure that quality information on HIV/AIDS and education from the CSA and its national and regional partners are made available to researchers and practitioners throughout the region. Two employees from the CSA, Barry van Wyk and Johan Maritz, were made chief editors in the Clearinghouse to initiate this partnership.

The HIV/AIDS Impact on Education Clearinghouse is an interactive portal dedicated to collecting and disseminating documentation on HIV/AIDS and its impact on education. It is designed as a tool for ministries, educational institutions, international agencies, consultants and other organisations to disseminate their own research and learn from the research of others. In addition to finding the latest studies and research, users can access related websites, participate in discussion forums and contact other members of the site.
Other partners of the Clearinghouse include the Education Research Network for West and Central Africa (ERNWACA) and UNESCO Bangkok HIV/AIDS Prevention in the Cross-Border Areas of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS).
