Launch: Balancing Acts AIDS Review 2008

Top level CSA What's New

The Centre for the Study of AIDS launched its tenth AIDS Review titled, Balancing Acts, written by Carmel Rickard in November 2008.

Balancing Acts explores the tension between public health and human rights through the lens of some vexing challenges in the South African HIV/AIDS epidemic such as TB, HIV testing uptake and sexual violence. Asking whether a focus on human rights is appropriate or an impediment in the light of our desperateness to find quick solutions, Balancing Acts also questions the role of the legal system in promoting access to rights.
