The Bernard van Leer Foundation is a private grantmaking foundation which funds projects in South Africa and elsewhere in sub-Saharan Africa that support orphans and vulneable young children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The emphasis is on community mobilisation and psycho-social support. Higher Education Against HIV/AIDS is South Africa's first nationally co-ordinated programme designed to improve the capacity of higher education institutions in preventing, managing and mitigating the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
The HIV/AIDS Impact on Education Clearinghouse at the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP/UNESCO) is an interactive portal dedicated to collecting and disseminating information on the imapct of HIV/AIDS on education and related areas. It is designed as a tool for ministries, educational institutions, international agencies, consultants and other organisations to disseminate their own research and learn from the research of others.
RADAR is a partnership between the University of the Witwatersrand School of Public Health and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. RADAR directs clinical and social interventions for HIV and gender-based violence, as well as conducting applied research on health services and rural development.
The Thomas Coram Research Unit is a multidisciplinary research unit within the Institute of Education at the University of London and a designated research unit of the British Department of Health.
